I grew up in a small town on the outskirts of Houston, TX. Originally, I wanted to stick my hands in Media Production but quickly realized that I was not cut out for that world. Graduating from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s in Communications, minoring in English, I did what every bright-eyed, fresh-out-the-womb of college person does and… was unemployed.
After interning and contracting for a short while in 2010, I was a stay-at-home girlfriend for a few months (SO glad my husband saw through my bum phase) when my husband accepted a new big boy job that would move us to Lafayette, LA! I married a pretty cool dude and created life with him, so that’s pretty awesome and I like to think I have made up for the whole “I don’t know what to do with my life” deal… trust me I wasn’t all that excited about it either.
After settling in, I started working the ol’ 9-5. We got married, bought a house, had the kids and then decided that our family needed me most at home. So, once again, I changed up my goals/expectations and slapped another new ‘job’ on my resume. I have truly enjoyed this chapter of my life the most, however I never could shake that lingering itch to write and just share our journey – mine and ours.
Once we finally settled into our new life as parents and I had all my tiny terrors sleeping through the night. I set off to add “Published Author” on my list of “To-Dos”. Don’t get me wrong, I love this glamorous career of stay-at-home mom along with wine, fitness, food, a good book and trashy reality TV. Some days I have it all together and others I look and act like a drowning cat but I like to think every day is a fresh start… glass have full type of gal! Wrote a little novel We All Fall Down which is now officially published (self-published but it’s for sale on Amazon so that’s got to give me some points)! I blog to keep my creative wheels turning and to connect with YOU. Please be kind, I cry easy.
